From Addiction to Anointed -- Matthew Wyatt

What happens when a single moment changes the entire course of your life? For Matthew, it all began with a workplace injury—one prescription, one pill—and a descent into addiction that gripped him instantly. From that first dose, he was hooked. What followed were four near-fatal overdoses, a growing dependence on alcohol, and a heart full of anger and blame directed at God. 

At rock bottom, Matthew felt there was no way out. He planned to end his life. 

But God wasn’t done with him yet. 

In his darkest hour, a miracle arrived—not from the heavens, but through the unwavering love of his wife, whom he calls his angel. Her strength pulled him back from the edge. Through her, and ultimately through a powerful encounter with Jesus, Matthew’s life was radically transformed. 

Today, he’s not just sober—he’s a pastor, a servant, and a vessel of hope. He and his wife have followed God’s calling across the country, never settling, always serving. He’s donated a kidney to a stranger, and his life now reflects the very grace he once doubted. 

Matthew’s story is raw, real, and redemptive—a powerful testimony of how God turns ashes into beauty, and brokenness into purpose.
